Stretch marks can be avoided if you begin to take extra care for your skin early. Here are the AZENA products our dear customers recommend you should try and why. We asked Tena to share her experiences in her daily skin care routine while being pregnant.
“During my first pregnancy, I had worries of getting those nasty stretch marks, red and itchy skin. So here is my personal experience with some of my favorite AZENA products – Herbal Balm with Tangerine and Herbal Body and face scrub.”
Pregnancy is such a natural, beautiful miracle. As the baby grows inside of mom’s body, her skin stretches making more and more space for the baby to grow. This can sometimes result in redness, flakiness, itchiness of the skin and stretch marks. Stretch marks are long, narrow streaks, stripes, or lines that develop on the skin. They occur when the skin is suddenly stretched and are extremely common. Anyone can develop stretch marks, although they tend to affect more women than men. They can occur on a range of body parts, including the stomach, thighs, hips, breasts, upper arms, and lower back. This type of scarring happens when the skin cannot resume normal form after a period of intense growth, often due to pregnancy, weight gain, weight loss, or puberty. Over 50 percent of women experience stretch marks during pregnancy.
How to help in the prevention of stretch marks?
“These are my tips and advice for avoiding any stretch marks during the pregnancy. In the first three months while my belly was still small I used AZENA’s Herbal Body and face scrub once a week, to stimulate skins growth using natural oils and sea salt, after that I would use a generous amount od AZENA Herbal body balm with tangerine. As the belly grew, after showering I would use a combination of AZENA Herbal body balm with tangerine and AZENA Baby Balm to nurture, soothe and smooth the skin.”
What ingredients are in those products that make this product beneficial for the skin?
“AZENA products are rich in olive and sunflower oil that is full of vitamin E. Vitamin E is essential for the skin’s elasticity and softness. The stretchier and nourish the skin the more it can expand during pregnancy. Herbal and essential oils, especially Tangerine oil, stimulate the circulation and the flow of nutrients to the skin when applied locally, like belly or breast area. Beeswax and Marigold in the products are perfect to keep the moisture of the skin and to soothe the redness, itchiness, and flakiness of the skin during the belly growth. I love to know more about what I am putting on my skin, especially during pregnancy so informing myself about the ingredients was helpful in choosing AZENA products as my main body skin care.”
*Please advise with your health adviser regarding the use of certain oils during different stages of pregnancy.
Tena adds a bit of an extra advice – “A bit of extra advice from me to you is to stay hydrated and eat healthy, vitamin-packed food so that your organism can be happy and well nourished while in this blessed state. Take as many naps as you can, rest a lot or take light walks in nature.”
With love, Tena, Veles & Andrea
